Digital Desk: The first government Orchid Park in Kaziranga National Park will be opened for domestic and international tourists. The Government Orchid Park will be opened in the latter part of the year 2025. This was confirmed by the Agriculture Minister, Atul Bora, in Kaziranga.

He inspected the ongoing construction work of the government Orchid Park in Kaziranga.

Along with Atul Bora, Minister Keshab Mahanta also accompanied him on this visit.

The Orchid Park is being constructed on approximately 20 acres of land in Kohora, Kaziranga, under the initiative of the Horticulture Department.

It is worth mentioning that on July 16, 2020, the foundation stone for the government Orchid Park was laid by then Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

However, allegations were made that the construction of the park was moving very slowly. Notably, Rs 16 crore have been allocated for this project.

A company named Darjeeling Garden is carrying out the construction work of the government Orchid Park.

Although it was planned to be opened in July, due to the monsoon season causing some delays in the work, the park will now be opened towards the end of the year.
