Sumi Borah, one of the key accused in an online stock trading scam worth Rs 2,200 crore, was arrested by the police on September 12, 2024.
Digital Desk: Actor, choreographer, and model Sumi Borah will soon be out under the open sky after her bail plea was accepted by the Gauhati High Court.
Sumi Borah, one of the key accused in an online stock trading scam worth Rs 2,200 crore, was arrested by the police on September 12, 2024.
However, on Wednesday, she has been granted bail by the Gauhati High Court in the case at Dibrugarh’s Barbaruah police station.
Last year, she was arrested in connection with multi-crore scam along with her husband Tarkik Borah and Bishal Phukan.
Both Sumi and Tarkik were arrested following their surrender before the Dibrugarh police in 2024.
Now, Sumi has received bail in all the trading cases, and will be soon out from the jail.
Meanwhile, Bishal Phukan and Tarkik Borah, other main accused in the trading scandal, had also been granted bail.
Bishal Phukan came under the open sky on May 3, 2025.
Bishal Phukon and Tarkik Bora were granted bail in Barbaruah police station under case number 85/2024.
The PJ Saikia Court had granted bail to both of them.
