The woman was working in the field when she was attacked by the fathers of the two minor boys

Digital Desk: In a horrific turn of events, a mother of a deaf-mute rape survivor was brutally murdered in Jharkhand on Sunday. The woman, aged 50, was hacked to death by three men, including the fathers of the two minor boys accused of raping her daughter. The accused, who were arrested on Monday, had a long-standing dispute with the woman over land, according to the police.

“The motive appears to be revenge for the police action initiated against the sons and the land dispute with the victim," the local police station in charge said, adding that the weapon used in the murder has been recovered, as quoted by the News18.

The woman was working in the field when she was attacked by the fathers of the two minor boys and another family member. The two boys, who are currently in an observation home, had allegedly raped the woman's 19-year-old deaf-mute daughter on March 13.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the woman and her daughter were asleep, and her elder daughter had gone to a wedding function, locking the house from outside.

The two minor boys allegedly broke the lock and told the woman to go check on her elder daughter, who was at the function “as she was up to something indecent". After the woman left, the boys dragged the deaf-mute girl to a school building and raped her.

The police suspect that the motive behind the woman's murder was revenge for the police action initiated against the sons and the long-standing land dispute. The weapon used in the murder has been recovered, and an investigation is underway.
