Digital Desk: The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) won 27 of the 40 seats, registering a landslide victory in the Mizoram Assembly Elections.
In the Aizawl East-1 constituency, Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga fell to ZPM's Lalthansanga by 2,101 votes, marking what can be considered a significant setback for the Mizo National Front (MNF).
In the Serchhip constituency, ZPM's Chief Ministerial contender Lalduhoma triumphed decisively over MNF contender J Malsawmzuala Vanchhawng, winning by a margin of 2,982 votes.
Other notable defeats included MNF candidate Tawnluia, who was defeated by the ZPM candidate in Tuichang; R Lalthangliana, the MNF candidate and health minister, who was defeated by ZPM nominee Jeje Lalpekhlua in South Tuipui; and Laruatkima, the minister of rural development, who was defeated by ZPM nominee Lalnghinglova Hmar in Aizawl West II.
