Digital Desk: In a tragic accident, an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawan deployed for election duty died in an accident on Sunday at the Udalthana-1 area in Chawngte village, Lawngtlai district.

The report states that while constable Z. Lamuanzuala of the 4th Indian Reserve Battalion and his companion Lalduhzuala of the 3rd Mizoram Armed Police were traveling to the Jarulsury Polling Station in the Tuichawng area for election duty, their Tata Sumo registration number MZ07-2427 got stuck on a steep road.

The jawans got down to push the vehicle, but unfortunately the vehicle rolled backwards and hit IRB constable Z. Lalduhzuala behind it. The deceased constable wife, who is a homeguard, is also on duty for the election in Mamit district.
