Digital desk: Mizoram's director general of police (DGP), Anil Shukla, conducted a five-day training program aimed at equipping police personnel with the knowledge of three new criminal laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Which will come into effect on July 1st of this year, the central government recently issued three gazette notifications regarding these laws.

Addressing the trainees during the opening ceremony on Monday, Shukla emphasized the importance of comprehending the intricacies of these laws and urged participants to subsequently impart their knowledge to other officers and staff within their respective units. 

The training session, attended by 55 officers representing all districts of Mizoram, featured lectures by prominent figures including Shivendu Bhushan, IPS, PU Manjeet Singh, IPS, and faculty members from the Government Mizoram Law College. The curriculum covers various aspects of the newly introduced legislation.
