Digital Desk: Today, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports announced the National Sports Awards 2023. In a proud moment for the Northeast, two athletes from Manipur took first place.
Manipur's Naorem Roshibina Devi and Pukhrambam Sushila Chanu were among the 26 athletes who received the honour this year.
While Naorem Roshibina Devi won the Wushu prize, Pukhrambam Sushila Chanu got the hockey award.
The recipients will be presented with their accolades by the President on January 9, 2024, at a specially organised occasion at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Chirag Chandrashekhar Shetty and Rankireddy Satwik Sai Raj will receive the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award in 2023. 26 athletes will receive Arjuna Awards for excellent performance in Sports and Games 2023.
