According to Vaidya Bandhan Singh Kherwar, neither Dhoni nor his parents were at first recognizable to him.

Digital Desk: Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is suffering from knee pain and has sought treatment from a doctor in his hometown. This doctor sees patients under a tree in a remote Ranchi village. Like all his patients, Dhoni was charged Rs 40 by Vaidya Bandhan Singh Kharwar, who uses wild plants to heal diseases.

Vaidya Bandhan Singh Kharwar has been providing medical care to people for the past 28 years in the Lapung police station region of Katingkela, around 70 kilometres from Ranchi. He has a tarpaulin tent under a tree where Dhoni has been visiting him after every four days from the last one month to receive a dose of his medicine. Vaidya makes a special medicine for treating bone ailments that cannot be carried to home.

Notably, before Dhoni, his parents received care from this physician. According to Vaidya Bandhan Singh Kherwar, neither Dhoni nor his parents were at first recognizable to him. He only found out about his celebrity patient when the neighbourhood kids gathered by to take pictures with them.

"Dhoni comes like a normal patient without any pomp. However, news of Dhoni's coming now draws his supporters here every four days. He is currently receiving his medication while sitting in his car," Vaidya said.
