Reportedly, on March 12 of this year, Prakash killed his maternal uncle.
Digital Desk: According to reports, a prisoner from Assam's Kokrajhar Jail escaped from the jail premises on Monday night.
Prakash Barman has been identified as the prisoner. He resided in the Salakati Police Station-supervised village of Nayachara.
Apparently, on March 12 of this year, Prakash killed his maternal uncle. According to authorities, he was found guilty of the murder on March 24 and has been imprisoned at the Kokrajhar Jail ever since.
After the incident, questions have been raised over how Prakash was able to escape the facility, which has rigorous security measures in place.
Police have started a manhunt in the meantime to find the fugitive prisoner.
