Digital Desk: In a drastic turn of life on Saturday night, a car carrying eight members of a family died after a collision with a truck approaching from the other direction on the Nainital Highway.

The incident occurred in the Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh's Bhojipura. The deceased included seven adults and one child, according to authorities. The family came from the village of Bahedi in Uttarakhand.

Following the incident, the vehicle in which the occupants were travelling caught fire, killing all of them on the spot. The SUV's driver lost control of the vehicle after a tyre puncture.

"The accident happened near Bhojipura on the highway." An automobile and a truck collided. The car was dragged before catching fire. "Because the car was centrally locked, the people inside died as a result of the fire," Bareilly SSP Ghule Sushil Chandrabhan was reported as saying by news agency ANI.

He stated that the bodies had been removed and sent for post-mortem examination. More action is being taken in this case.

Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, expressed his sincere sympathies for the loss of life in a road accident in Bareilly and prayed for peace to the souls of the departed.
