Nainital: A 24 year old man working as a salesman in Delhi was arrested on charges of killing his wife by allegedly pushing her off a cliff in Nainital.
As per reports, the man’s wife, 29 year old Babita complained in June last year that the accused had raped her on the false promise of marrying her, said Delhi Police. The accused Rajesh Rai was arrested by the police based on the complaint filed by the victim Babita.
Rajesh was released from Tihar Jail in the month of October last year after the victim took back her complaint and said that she is willing to marry the accused. Soon after the accused got released from the jail, the duo got married.
This wasn’t the end of the trauma faced by Babita as soon as she got married, Rajesh became abusive and started quarreling, abusing his wife, the same which was also alleged by the victim’s family. When the victim returned to her family home, the accused requested the woman’s family members to convince her to return back.
On returning, the woman was then taken to Uttarakhand by her husband. The family members couldn't connect with the woman on phone and hence informed the police doubting of something fishy in the incident.
The Police reached Rajesh's house and arrested him who later revealed that he murdered his wife by pushing her off a cliff in Nainital.
