NALBARI, ASSAM: In a significant stride towards modernising the agricultural landscape through digital governance, the Directorate of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Nalbari District Agriculture Department, recently conducted two comprehensive district-level training programmes. The sessions, held at the Nalbari District Library Auditorium on Thursday, were designed to enhance the technological prowess and strategic understanding of field-level officials.
The first training programme focused on equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and technical skills for undertaking digital crop surveys. Officials were thoroughly trained in managing agricultural databases, implementing the ambitious Agri Stack initiatives, and streamlining fertiliser procurement processes via digital platforms. A core objective was to empower these officials to effectively utilise digital tools for the collection, management, and continuous updating of crucial agricultural data, thereby ensuring more efficient and timely service delivery to farmers across the district.
Following this, a second district-level training programme was organised, centering on the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF). This flagship government initiative is pivotal for driving investment in post-harvest management and developing robust agricultural infrastructure. By educating officials on the AIF, the programme aims to facilitate greater capital inflow into critical areas that support the long-term growth and sustainability of the farming sector.
These initiatives highlight a concerted effort to integrate advanced technology into agricultural practices, ultimately benefiting farmers through improved access to services and enhanced infrastructure, aligning with broader regional development goals.
