Out of the 40 total seats, the BJP will run for 17 and the JD(U) for 16.......

Digital desk: The NDA's pact for the Lok Sabha elections gives Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (U) 16 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will run for 17 of the 40 seats in Bihar.

The Lok Janashakti Party (Ram Vilas) intends to nominate candidates in Hajipur and Jamui, among the other five seats. Each of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awas Morcha will run for one seat. In Bihar, the NDA won 39 of the 40 seats in 2019.

Out of the 40 total seats, the BJP will run for 17 and the JD(U) for 16. At a news conference held at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Vinod Tawde, the BJP's in-charge of the Bihar elections, said that the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) would run for five seats.

Chirag Paswan will run for the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, which was awarded to the party as part of the seat-sharing agreement, according to Bihar LJP (Ram Vilas) chairman Raju Tiwari.

Speaking with Union minister Pashupati Paras, discussions are constant, according to Bihar BJP head Samrat Choudhary, as his LJP fraction was not mentioned in the seat-sharing agreement.

The seats in Jamui, Hajipur, Khagaria, Samastipur, and Vaishali are up for grabs by the LJP.

Chirag Paswan, the national president of the party, thanked Prime Minister Modi for allowing the NDA to share seats in Bihar and the LJP to run for five seats. He said, "for the way he kept the respect of our party."

"Thanks to all the friends in the NDA, the easiness with which the seat-sharing has been done and the sacrifices every party has made to strengthen the alliance is commendable. We will together work to achieve the vision of PM Modi to win all 40 seats. When my father (Ram Vilas Paswan) passed away, the responsibility was on my uncle (Pashupati Kumar Paras) to hold the party and family together, and my father wherever he is today must have been sad to see that the party and the symbol that he had chosen is still under freeze", he also added.
