Digital Desk: The North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB), the AIC-AAU incubator established under the aegis of Assam Agricultural University, on Thursday held its cheque distribution ceremony, disbursing a total of Rs. 1.2 crore in grant-in-aid to 18 agri-startups selected under the RKVY-RAFTAAR programme of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
The ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, Dr. Dipjyoti Rajkhowa; the Director of Students' Welfare, Dr. Binoy Kumar Medhi; the Associate Director of Research, Dr. Mrinal Saikia; the former Director of Research, Dr. G. N. Hazarika; Directors of NEATEHUB, Dr. Danish Tamuly and Dr. Luna Dutta Baruah; the Chief Operating Officer of NEATEHUB, Partha Borthakur, along with other NEATEHUB officials.
The grant-in-aid was extended under the RKVY-RAFTAAR (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana – Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sectors Rejuvenation) programme, with NEATEHUB serving as a Knowledge Partner under the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The support this year spanned startups at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey, disbursed across three tiers:
Navyam - student-led startups, with grant-in-aid of up to Rs. 4 lakh
Isanya - early-stage startups, with grant-in-aid of up to Rs. 5 lakh
Saranya - growth-stage startups, with grant-in-aid of up to Rs. 25 lakh

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries congratulated the founders and encouraged them to build sustainable, scalable ventures that strengthen the agriculture and allied-sector ecosystem of the North East region. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Dipjyoti Rajkhowa, Vice-Chancellor of Assam Agricultural University, said:

The region needs many more innovators like you - you are not just building businesses, you are shaping the future of agriculture in the North East."
The cheque distribution reaffirms NEATEHUB's continued commitment to supporting agri-entrepreneurs across the region - from student innovators to growth-stage companies - through funding, mentorship, and market linkages.
