Chief advisor of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Samujjal Bhattacharya, told reporters that the government must provide the people with a long-term solution to the problem of illegal immigration.

Digital Desk: The North East Students' Organization (NESO) plans to hold protests in the Northeast headquarters on Wednesday (August 17).

NESO member organisations will protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act in all state capitols (CAA). The protest will also be staged to raise awareness of issues that are prevalent in various parts of the north-eastern states.

Chief advisor of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Samujjal Bhattacharya, told reporters that the government must provide the people with a long-term solution to the problem of illegal immigration.

He stated: "Tomorrow, NESO will hold a nonviolent demonstration at each of its state headquarters. The protest's goal is to satisfy their objectives by reducing the range of sociopolitical problems that continue to exist in the North-Eastern states."

The senior AASU leader added that if a solution is not found, Assam may experience the same destiny as Tripura, where the primary or state language becomes secondary.
