Digital Desk: As per reliable reports, Rs. 18.85 crore was robbed from a Punjab National Bank today in the heart of Ukhrul town, the interesting part of the robbery is seen as a local Netflix-style heist series.
The PNB in Viewland-I, one of Ukhrul town's largest bazaars, was plundered at around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday by ten unidentified masked individuals using sophisticated firearms.
It has been learned that approximately 8 troops from the 6th Manipur Rifles were repairing the PNB bank. The Punjab National Bank was once known as the United Bank of India and was recently renamed PNB.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the report's filing. So far, no arrests have been made by the local authorities. This is the first time a bank heist has occurred in Ukhrul town. The Ukhrul Police Department has launched an investigation into one of the largest bank robberies in recent memory.
It should be noted that in July 2023, a Churachandpur Axis Bank branch located at the junction of Teddim Road and Thangzam Road in Churachadpur town was found plundered of over Rs. 1 crore by bank workers when it reopened for the first time since the Manipur conflict erupted on May 3, 2023, in Manipur.
