The new Vande Bharat Express will run from New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati via Kamakhya. Except for Tuesdays, it will be open six days a week.


Digital Desk: On Monday, May 29, the New Jalpaiguri-Guwahati Vande Bharat Express train will be inaugurated. The Vande Bharat Express train is the first in Northeast India. Guwahati (Assam) and New Jalpaiguri (West Bengal) will be served by the semi-high-speed train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will use video conferencing to launch the 18th Vande Bharat Express at 12 p.m. 


The train will travel 407 km between the two stations in 5 hours and 30 minutes. The fastest train currently takes 6 hours and 30 minutes to do the same journey. The new Vande Bharat Express will run from New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati via Kamakhya. Except for Tuesdays, it will be open six days a week.


The train (22227) will leave New Jalpaiguri at 6:10 a.m. and arrive in Guwahati at 11:40 a.m., completing the distance in 5.30 hours. Train number 22228 Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Express will depart Guwahati at 4:30 p.m. and arrive in New Jalpaiguri at 10:00 p.m.
