Digital Desk: Nepal's newly elected President Ramchandra Paudel was admitted to Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu's Maharajgunj after complaining of stomach pain. According to the hospital's official statement, Paudel complained of stomach pain and was admitted to the hospital. He was admitted to the hospital late on Saturday and is currently being monitored, hospital authorities said.

Only two weeks ago, Senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel was sworn in as Nepal's President. According to Nepal's Election Commission, Paudel received 33,802 votes, while his opponent, Subash Chandra Nembwang, received 15,518 votes.

Moreover, according to Nepal's Election Commission, 313 members of the federal parliament voted, while 518 members of provincial legislatures also voted to select the next president.

The voting took place at Nepal's Parliament building in Kathmandu's New Baneshwar. The Election Commission in the Himalayan nation had set up two distinct polling stations at the Hall for federal parliamentarians and Province Assembly members. Lawmakers from all provinces have gathered in Kathmandu for the election.

The Electoral College is made up of 884 members, including 275 members of the House of Representatives, 59 members of the National Assembly, and 550 members of the seven provincial legislatures. Paudel received support from eight parties, while Subash Chandra Nembang, the lone candidate from the CPN-UML, was tipped to receive support from independent lawmakers.
