Nitish Kumar today took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan. Along with him, 19 ministers are also expected to take oath. The oath-taking ceremony, held at the iconic Gandhi Maidan, began at 11:30 am under tight security and in the presence of several top national leaders. The CID has summoned the General Secretary of the All Assam Zubeen Fan Club, Piku Borgohain, for questioning for the second time. Several screenshots of their chats, which surfaced online, revealed explosive details related to the incident. The SIT has called Piku for further clarification and has already seized his mobile phone as part of the investigation.

In a major political development, senior BJP leader Rajen Gohain has resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gohain formally announced his resignation at the BJP’s party’s Assam headquarters. A veteran politician, Rajen Gohain is a former state president of the BJP and a four-time Member of Parliament (MP) from Nagaon. During the first term of the Narendra Modi government, he served as the Minister of State for Railways. In a letter to state BJP president Rajen Gohain said he was resigning from the primary membership of the party and stepping down from all party responsibilities with immediate effect.
