Digital Desk: On November 18, the 53rd birthday of Assam's beloved cultural icon Zubeen Garg was marked by an emotional tribute as veteran singers and music composers Neeraj Shridhar and Jeet Gannguli visited Assam to honour his memory.
The duo paid their respects at Zubeen Kshetra, Sonapur and later visited Garima Saikia Garg at Zubeen Garg's Kahilipara residence.
During the visit, Neera Shridhar reflected on his bond with Zubeen Garg, describing him as a dear friend whose passing felt like losing a part of himself.
He expressed that Zubeen Garg was truly a gift from God. Recalling their time together, Neeraj shared how he would often scold Garg like an elder brother.
He admired Zubeen Garg's unique singing style, noting that the beloved singer always performed and worked in his own style.
On this first birthday since Garg's demise, Shridhar poignantly remarked that someday he too will leave this world, and they will reunite in heaven.
Jeet Gannguli also shared heartfelt memories, emphasizing Zubeen Garg's deep love for his homeland, which kept him rooted in Assam.
He revealed that Zubeen Garg recorded his last song for a Bengali movie just three months before his passing, and the song is set to be released soon in Assam.
Gannguli extended an invitation to the new generation of Assamese singers to record songs at Zubeen Garg's studio, believing it would bring peace to the artist's soul.
Reflecting on their close friendship, Gannguli spoke of Zubeen Garg's enduring connection to Assam, a state he deeply cherished.
Recalling their collaborations, Gannguli promised that he will record songs at Zubeen Garg's Jonali Studio.
Gannguli also reminisced about the late-night dubbing sessions, which left him with countless cherished memories of the late artist.
