Digital Desk: In an unique initiative a seven standard student from Bajali will serve as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bajali district for a day.Nibir Nesan Baruah, a young boy from Ghotbor in Bajali, has been chosen to take charge of the SP’s office today.
This initiative has been introduced by the government on the occasion of World Children’s Day to inspire and motivate young minds.
The student's father had submitted a request to the Chief Minister, asking that his son be allowed to serve as SP for a day. Soon after, the child was called to the office of the SP.
Nibir Nesan Baruah took over the chair of Bajali Superintendent of Police formally. Wearing the police uniform and sitting in the SP's seat, he was greeted with a salute by the officers present in the office who then introduced themselves to him.
Additional Superintendent of Police Trinayan Bhuyan introduced Nibir to all the staff members and familiarized him with different departments of the office.A few days earlier, Nibir’s father, Ankur Baruah, had submitted an application to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma expressing his child’s unique wish.
Acting on the request, and with approval from the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police, Nibir Nesan Baruah was appointed as the SP of Bajali for a day on the occasion of World Children’s Day.
After the process was completed, the Bajali SP and the Additional SP shared the details of this special initiative.
