The Special Investigation Team (SIT) continues its interrogation of Anuj Kumar Baruah at the CID office in connection with the ongoing investigation of Zubeen Garg’s death . Anuj Kumar Baruah, who served as the Public Relations Officer of the North East Festival, arrived from Delhi after being summoned by the SIT. According to sources, the questioning is part of the team’s efforts to gather more information related to the case, as the probe remains active and ongoing.

An alleged murder has been reported at the Railway Colony in Bamunimaidam, Guwahati. The incident occurred at the Durga Puja pandal of Kalibari Jagariti Sangha. Avinash Rajak (26), who was dancing at the pandal, allegedly requested that a song by Zubeen Garg be played. His request enraged a group of youths led by Agni Sharma, Sujit Sarkar, and Ratul Bora. Reportedly, around 20–25 men attacked Avinash and brutally assaulted him, leaving him critically injured.

Fire broke out in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar area late last night, originating from a store named Bombay Saree inside Cyber Mart on SS Road. One person lost his life in the incident, while five others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to GMCH , with all reported to be in critical condition. The blaze, which started around 3:30 a.m., raged for nearly five hours before it was brought under control after relentless efforts by the fire brigade. Around 10–12 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. Cyber Mart, which houses nearly 100 shops, suffered extensive damage in the devastating incident.
