Digital Desk: In a major twist to the ongoing investigation into the death of singer-actor Zubeen Garg, two of his personal security officers (PSOs) have been suspended following allegations of large-scale financial misconduct.

According to official sources, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been interrogating the two officers for the past three days after serious complaints of financial irregularities surfaced. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the CID reportedly discovered significant evidence of suspicious digital transactions amounting to several crores of rupees connected to their personal bank accounts.

The suspended security officers have been found to be Paresh Baishya and Nandeswar Bora. Initial enquiries indicate that the money was stolen by diverting the funds of another man called Zubeen Garg using the digital payment systems which the two men had access to.

It is reported that around 70 lakh money was transferred via the Nandeswar Bora account and around 40 lakh money was associated with Paresh Baishya account. The financial trail is now being followed to the latter in order to ascertain whether the money was embezzled or misused to benefit an individual.

The CID has not ruled out the possibility of a larger financial network being involved, as the probe into Zubeen Garg’s mysterious case continues to deepen.
