Nitish Kumar today took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record 10th time at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan. Along with him, 19 ministers are also expected to take oath. The oath-taking ceremony, held at the iconic Gandhi Maidan, began at 11:30 am under tight security and in the presence of several top national leaders. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Kumar, a day after he formally staked claim to form the new NDA government in the state.

The CID has summoned the General Secretary of the All Assam Zubeen Fan Club, Piku Borgohain, for questioning for the second time. Piku appeared before the SIT today in connection with the viral WhatsApp conversation he allegedly shared with Shekhar Jyoti Goswami following the death of singer Zubeen Garg. Several screenshots of their chats, which surfaced online, revealed explosive details related to the incident. The SIT has called Piku for further clarification and has already seized his mobile phone as part of the investigation.

In a major political development, senior BJP leader Rajen Gohain has resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Gohain formally announced his resignation at the BJP’s party’s Assam headquarters. A veteran politician, Rajen Gohain is a former state president of the BJP and a four-time Member of Parliament (MP) from Nagaon. During the first term of the Narendra Modi government, he served as the Minister of State for Railways. In a letter to state BJP president Rajen Gohain said he was resigning from the primary membership of the party and stepping down from all party responsibilities with immediate effect.

The investigation into the mysterious death of singer Zubeen Garg has taken another serious turn as his two personal security officers (PSOs), Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora, appeared before the CID office for questioning on the third consecutive day. According to sources, both PSOs are likely to be arrested soon as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has reportedly found evidence of large financial transactions in their bank accounts. Preliminary findings reveal that around ₹70 lakh was transacted through Nandeshwar Bora’s account, while approximately ₹40 lakh moved through Paresh Baishya’s account
