LIVE: Veteran Actress Kashmiri Saikia Baruah Hospitalised After Brain Stroke

Renowned Assamese actress Kashmiri Saikia Baruah has been hospitalised after suffering a brain stroke on Monday morning. According to familymembers , the popular artiste experienced a sudden pressure-related stroke and is currently undergoing treatment at Nemcare Super Speciality Hospital. She has been admitted to the ICU under the neurology department. Her son, Duke Baruah, stated that the stroke led to blood clotting in the brain, leaving her in a critical condition. A recipient of the prestigious ‘Prag-Prerona’ award, Kashmiri Saikia Baruah is one of Assam’s leading film and stage actors. She has delivered notable performances in acclaimed films such as Putola Ghar (1976), Sandhyaraag (1977), Agnisnaan (1985), and Sagaroloi Bohu Door (1995). Born in Mangaldoi, she has also worked as a news presenter and anchor with Prag News and Doordarshan Guwahati, contributing significantly to the media and cultural landscape of Assam.
