The investigation into the mysterious death of singer Zubeen Garg has taken another serious turn as his two personal security officers (PSOs), Paresh Baishya and Nandeshwar Bora, appeared before the CID office for questioning on the third consecutive day. According to sources, both PSOs are likely to be arrested soon as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has reportedly found evidence of large financial transactions in their bank accounts. Preliminary findings reveal that around ₹70 lakh was transacted through Nandeshwar Bora’s account, while approximately ₹40 lakh moved through Paresh Baishya’s account

An alleged murder has been reported at the Railway Colony in Bamunimaidam, Guwahati. The incident occurred at the Durga Puja pandal of Kalibari Jagariti Sangha. Avinash Rajak (26), who was dancing at the pandal, allegedly requested that a song by Zubeen Garg be played. His request enraged a group of youths led by Agni Sharma, Sujit Sarkar, and Ratul Bora. Reportedly, around 20–25 men attacked Avinash and brutally assaulted him, leaving him critically injured.

Fire broke out in Guwahati’s Fancy Bazar area late last night, originating from a store named Bombay Saree inside Cyber Mart on SS Road. One person lost his life in the incident, while five others sustained injuries. The injured were rushed to GMCH , with all reported to be in critical condition. The blaze, which started around 3:30 a.m., raged for nearly five hours before it was brought under control after relentless efforts by the fire brigade. The team is set to conduct a search operation at the Revenue Circle Office in Goroimari, where Bora allegedly committed significant irregularities during her tenure.
