Digital Desk- The India continued its remarkable performance in the ongoing BWF World Junior Badminton Championships, advancing to the quarterfinals as group champions with an unbeaten record.  The tournament ,which was hosted at the National Centre of Excellence in Amingaon, witnessed India beat UAE by a margin of 2 goals to 0 to qualify to the knockout stage.


Earlier, India had dominated Nepal and Sri Lanka with identical 2–0 wins in the mixed team event. Nevertheless, the current confrontation with the UAE was even harder since the opponents were able to win four of ten sets in the best-of-three engagements, the first time India lost sets in the tournament.


Despite the brief setback, India’s top players , Tanvi Sharma, Unnati Huda, and Mizoram’s rising star Lalramsanga , ensured victory with stellar performances in both singles and mixed doubles. Tanvi opened the team of women and mixed doubles a solid start as

India Storms into Quarterfinals of BWF World Junior Badminton Championship; Top-Seeded Thailand Knocked Out she defeated Visakha 9-5 and Lalramsanga 9-5 in the singles and mixed doubles respectively. Benela and Reshika won the deal by a close margin, 98, and 87 in women doubles, which made the total score 2718.


In the subsequent matches, Unnati extended India’s dominance with a 9–6 win in singles, while Lalramsanga paired with Aniya Bisht to claim another 9–5 win in mixed doubles, ensuring India’s place in the quarterfinals.


Meanwhile, defending champions Indonesia, 14-time champions China, and the United States also advanced to the quarterfinals. In a major upset, top-seeded Thailand crashed out of the competition after losing to Japan in the group stage.


The championship, organized by the Badminton Association of India in collaboration with the Assam Badminton Association, continues to draw enthusiastic crowds and high-level performances from young shuttlers worldwide.
