The Enforcement Directorate raided the homes of former PFI employees in the Keralan districts of Thrissur, Ernakulam, Malappuram, and Wayanad earlier in September.


Digital Desk: Raids on the offices of the banned group Popular Front of India (PFI) are being conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Delhi, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu, among other states.

Raid are being conducte at several locations in Maharashtra since early Wednesday morning, according to official sources.

A team of NIA officials has reached Abdul Wahid Sheikh's home in Mumbai's Vikhroli area. Sheikh was acquitted in the 2006 Mumbai train blast case.

In connection with the PFI case, the NIA is now conducting raids throughout Madurai.


Additionally, the NIA and local police began conducting raids in Old Delhi's Ballimaran, which is a part of the Hauz Qazi police station district. Early on Wednesday morning, the NIA arrived there.

The NIA had raided numerous PFI agents' homes in Malappuram in August. Thayyil Hamza in Vengara, Kalathiparambil Yahuti in Tirur, Haneefa in Tanur, and Rangattur Padikkaparambil Jaffer—all members of the outlawed PFI—had their homes raided.
The searches followed the NIA's attachment of Manjeri's Green Valley Academy, one of the PFI's biggest and oldest centres for physical and weaponry training, in early August.
