IIT Madras again topped the list in 2021 with a score of 90.19, closely followed by IIT Delhi with a score of 88.96. IIT Kharagpur took the fifth rank with a score of 82.03, closely followed by IIT Bombay and IIT Kanpur, both of which scored 85.16 and 83.22, respectively.

Digital Desk: IITs once again dominate the top 10 in the engineering category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2022, which were released today by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is ranked top once more.

The top five spots were unchanged this year as well. IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, respectively, took second and third place. The fourth- and fifth-place finishes from the previous year were maintained by IIT Kanpur and IIT Kharagpur, respectively.

In 2021, IIT Roorkee, Guwahati, and Hyderabad followed the other IITs in the top 10 list, but National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli and National Institute of Technology Karnataka took the final two slots.

 

This has changed in 2022 though, with NIT Tiruchirappalli moving up this year to take the eighth ranking and IIT Hyderabad falling to the ninth greatest engineering school in India. IIT Roorkee came in sixth, and IIT Guwahati came in seventh. This year, NIT Surathkal kept the 10th rank on the list.
