The Assam government would distribute assistance grants of Rs 10,000 apiece to a total of 6,953 puja pandals across the state to boost cultural and communal events.

This initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to safeguarding cultural heritage and increasing community engagement.

As of December 25, 2023, and January 10, 2024, foundation stones will be placed. During this time, all Cabinet Ministers will spend five days and nights in different communities to review the practical implementation of social schemes and the level of saturation obtained.

Meanwhile, The government has approved a 2024 holiday list for state government employees, including 36 gazetted, 30 restricted, and two half-holidays. District Collectors can declare one local holiday of significance, except in Kamrup, where the General Administration Department can declare two.
