Guwahati: In a first, NRI Entrepreneur Vedanta Baruah has been granted the coveted 10 year Golden Visa by UAE government, usually reserved for prominent global personalities. Baruah, who hails from Assam’s Dibrugarh district, is a prominent businessman who has been honoured with the special visa in the investor category.

“For me this is a proud moment. I am humbled and grateful to the UAE government and the Department of Economic Development,” an elated Baruah said.

Baruah is the chief executive officer of Berns Brett Masaood Insurance LLC, which has offices in the UK, the EU and India and operates globally.

The UAE government implemented a special visa system in 2019 enabling foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE with 100 percent ownership of their business on the UAE;’s mainland, without the need of a national sponsor.
