Amritpal Singh has been detained in Dibrugarh, Assam, and further action will be taken by the law...

Digital Desk: National Security Act (NSA) warrants were issued against Amritpal Singh, and the warrants went into effect today, according to Punjab's Inspector General of Police (IGP), Headquarters, Sukhchain Singh Gill, following the arrest of the 'Waris Punjab De' head.

"NSA warrants were issued against Amritpal Singh, and those warrants were executed this morning." Amritpal Singh was apprehended by Punjab Police about 6:45 a.m. today in the hamlet of Rode," stated Sukhchain Singh Gill.

According to him, Khalistan sympathiser and extremist preacher were apprehended in a joint operation by Punjab police and the intelligence wing. "Amritpal Singh has been transferred to Dibrugarh, Assam, and further action will be taken following the law and order in the case. A warning has been issued to those elements attempting to jeopardise the state's peace and harmony," the IGP stated.


"Amritpal Singh was apprehended by Punjab Police around 6.45 a.m. today in the village of Rode." Amritsar Police and the Punjab Police Intelligence Wing collaborated on the operation. Based on operational intelligence from Punjab Police, he was located in the hamlet of Rode. The Police did not enter Gurudwara Sahib to preserve its holiness. The IGP further added, "He has been taken to Dibrugarh under NSA..."


Punjab Police flew 'Waris Punjab De' chief Amritpal Singh, who was captured early Sunday morning, to Air Force Station, Bathinda, from where he is sent to Assam's Dibrugarh Prison. Soon after the arrest of the Waris Punjab De head from Moga's Gurudwara, Punjab Police requested the public to maintain peace and unity and to desist from spreading false information.
