Kohima: The NSCN-IM announced a total shut down of business establishments in ‘Nagalim’ from midnight of August 2, 2021, till 12 noon on August 3, 2021, to protest against the Government of India (GoI) for its stillness on the Framework Agreement (FA) even after six years of inking the agreement.

The Framework Agreement (FA) was signed between the Government of India and NSCM-IM on August 3, 2015.

NSCM-IM, in its statement, wrote, “Six years down the line, there are no positive response yet from the Government of India. The Nagas cannot be taken for a ride in this manner.”

The NSCM-IM said, “Nagas admire that Government of India has recognized the historical and political rights of the Nagas by signing the FA, but it cannot end here; it should be taken to the logical conclusion.”

“As the FA carries historical and political rights of the Naga people, so in the sixth anniversary of signing this agreement, the NSCN-IM has called a protest,” NSCN-IM added.

The NSCN-IM, in its statement, urges the Nagas and Business groups to show harmony to the Framework Agreement and cooperate for the success of the Shutdown.
