The accused students were then restricted from staying at the hostel as a result of disciplinary action being taken by the college administration.

Digital Desk: At least 14 students were rusticated from the hostel by the administration following the report of another case of ragging at a dental college in Silchar town, officials said on Monday. A few first-year dental college students recently filed a complaint against a few seniors. They claimed that senior students were harassing them verbally and physically. Their college academic performance has suffered as a result since they were unable to focus on their studies.

The dentistry college's anti-ragging committee was informed about the problem, Manjula Das, the college's principal stated. After conducting separate investigations into this situation, the committee and district administration authorities concluded that the accused kids were guilty. The accused students were then restricted from staying at the hostel as a result of disciplinary action being taken by the college administration. They were however permitted to carry on with their course.
