Sarma gave a speech during the event and stated that he wanted to organise the National Games once more by 2030.

Digital Desk: Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, visited the Badminton stadium being constructed in Amingaon, Guwahati, on July 4 and said that it will be inaugurated on August 11.

Sarma gave a speech during the event and stated that he wanted to organise the National Games once more by 2030.

"I hoped that the National Games will be held in Assam once more by 2030, which is why we are modernising Amingaon, Chandrapur, and Sarusajai. In Chandrapur, a contemporary stadium will be created. The largest badminton arena in the nation has been established in Amingaon's indoor stadium, Sarma added.

Later, using the microblogging platform Twitter, Sarma added, ''On August 11, 2023, brace yourself as one of India's grandest badminton stadiums springs to life. Inspected the ongoing construction, and it's truly mesmerizing!

He added that the Assam government had constructed the stadium in Amingaon and that the Badminton Association of India (BAI) and the state government will both run it.
