Digital Desk: Leaders of various opposition parties gathered at Dispur Police Station on Thursday to file an FIR against BJP state president Dilip Saikia, accusing him of alleged vote rigging/ election tampering (vote chor)  and other irregularities. The delegation included senior leaders from Congress, AJAP, Raijor Dal, and CPI(M).


From Congress, Ripun Bora, Rakibul Hussain, and Mira Borthakur were present. AJP was represented by Lurin Jyoti Gogoi, while Raijor Dal’s Rasel Hussain, along with representatives from other opposition parties, also attended the submission.


The opposition leaders alleged that the BJP engaged in manipulative practices during recent elections in the state, demanding a thorough investigation. They submitted a formal complaint to the Dispur Police, detailing both vote rigging and additional charges against the party leadership.


The FIR marks a major political move by the opposition as tensions rise ahead of upcoming elections in Assam, highlighting growing accusations of electoral misconduct by the ruling party.
