Digital Desk: Over 3,000 Indian Sikhs arrived in Pakistan's Punjab state on Saturday via the Wagah Border to celebrate the 554th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh religion.

The visiting pilgrims were received at the Lahore border by Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Additional Secretary (Shrines) Rana Shahid Saleem, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) Pardhan Sardar Ameer Singh, and other officials.

"Approximately 3,000 Indian Sikh Yatrees arrived here to celebrate the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak." "We have made foolproof security arrangements, as well as accommodation and transportation for Sikh pilgrims," Saleem informed reporters.

He stated that, while it has been agreed that around 3,000 Indian Sikhs will be housed on Baba Guru Nanak's birth anniversary, the ETPB is ready to accept additional Sikhs.

Ameer Singh of the PSGPC urged that train and bus service between the two countries be resumed to help the people.

Khushmindar Singh, Amritsar party leader of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), expressed his delight with the facilities provided by the ETPB for the visiting pilgrims.

"Indian Sikhs are content with the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor and the protection of their holy places in Pakistan," he stated, praising the people of this region for their devotion to the Yatrees.

The pilgrims were brought by special buses to Gurdwara Janamasthan Nankana Sahib, where the three-day festivities will begin on Sunday.

The pilgrims will also visit Gurdwara Punja Sahib Hassanabdal, Gurudwara Sacha Sauda, Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore, Gurudwara Rohri Sahib Aimenabad, and Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Narowal during their 10-day stay.
