  • The outbreak has sparked widespread fear among pig farmers across the state

Digital Desk: A wave of panic has gripped pig farmers in Hajo as symptoms of African swine fever have been detected among pigs.

The outbreak has sparked widespread fear among pig farmers across the state.

In particular, the farm owned by Biren Das in Hatdola, Hajo, has witnessed alarming developments.

Following the death of over 60 pigs, several other pigs are now suffering from fever and are battling for survival.

This has left the farmers deeply concerned about the worsening situation.

Despite efforts by the veterinary team in Hajo to provide medical assistance, there have been no significant improvements so far.

Meanwhile, samples from the dead pigs have been collected and sent to Khanapara Veterinary College for testing.

The results of these tests, expected within two days, will confirm whether the disease is indeed African swine fever.

If confirmed, it could lead to widespread chaos among pig farmers in Hajo, exacerbating their fears and challenges.
