PM Modi will arrive at Vadodara in the morning after offering prayers at the Mahakali temple atop Pavagadh Hills in the neighbouring Panchmahal district.

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat's Vadodara on June 18. However, a roadshow slated to be held on the same day has now been canceled due to security reasons.

"Taking care of the citizens of the country, our successful and esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has instructed to cancel the roadshow to be held on June 18 at 12 noon in Vadodara, keeping in view the problems of the citizens of the city," CR Patil, president of the Gujarat BJP unit, wrote in Gujarati.

PM Modi will arrive at Vadodara in the morning after offering prayers at the Mahakali temple atop Pavagadh Hills in the neighbouring Panchmahal district.

The prime minister will address nearly 4 lakh people, including beneficiaries of various government schemes, such as rural housing, at the Leprosy Hospital ground near Sardar Estate.

Earlier, during his June 10 visit, PM Modi had met his former school teacher from Vadnagar in Navsari. The images from the informal meet-up have gone viral.

The prime minister inaugurated seven projects worth Rs 3,050 crore in the tribal region of Navsari. He also laid foundation stones for over 14 projects which will help improve the region's water supply, boost connectivity, and enhance the ease of living.

These visits come ahead of the Gujarat Assembly elections, which are due in December this year.
