Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an International Cricket stadium in Varanasi on Saturday. The Prime Minister also addressed a rally of woman supporters in his parliamentary constituency regarding the women's reservation measure that was approved by Parliament.


After Kanpur and Lucknow, this would be Uttar Pradesh's third international cricket stadium.

  • The international cricket stadium in Varanasi will be built on Rs 121 crore land.


  • According to a press release from the Uttar Pradesh government, the cricket stadium will cost approximately Rs 330 crore.


  • The stadium can hold around 30,000 people at a time.


  • The roof covers will be designed like crescents, the floodlights like tridents, patterns like bel leaves, and one of the structures like a "damru."


  • The "essence of Kashi" will be portrayed in the international cricket stadium's design in Varanasi, according to a press release.


  • The stadium's spectator gallery will resemble the Varanasi ghats' stone steps.


  • According to the press release, it will likely be completed by December 2025 and situated near the Ring Road in the Rajatalab area
