Digital Desk: An encounter took place in Matia, Goalpara, near the Matia detention camp during the late hours of the night.
Rajibul Ali, a notorious dacoit, was shot by the police during an operation. Rajibul had been involved in a robbery that occurred on Friday night in Tiplai, Goalpara.
While attempting to attack the police and escape, he was shot by the Goalpara police.
As per reports, Rajibul, a resident of Sutarpara, had hidden all the looted ornaments in a forest. During a police operation in search of the items, the notorious robber attempted to attack the police and tried to escape.
The police then shot him, injuring both legs. He is currently undergoing treatment at Goalpara Civil Hospital.
A police officer was also injured in the incident.
