New Delhi: Delhi has witnessed a marginal improvement this week in terms of air quality. However, the mercury slipped down further today, and the status of air quality dropped once again.
Delhi's air quality slipped to the 'very poor' category on November 25.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR)-India, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 330 (overall) in the 'very poor' classification.
Delhi reported 'very poor' air quality for 10 back-to-back days. However, on Wednesday there was a ray of hope as the air quality counted 'poor' with AQI 280.

As per the records, SAFAR listed the Particulate Matter (PM) 10 levels at 58 in the `satisfactory` level. Including, the PM 2.5 levels at 38 in the `satisfactory` level on Wednesday.
While for the National Capital Region (NCR) area, the pollution levels varied within "very poor" and "poor".
An AQI between 0 and 50 falls under `good`, 51 and 100 `satisfactory`, 101 and 200 `moderate. And, 201 and 300 `poor`, 301 and 400 `very poor, and 401 and 500 `severe` levels.
On Wednesday, the Delhi government permitted the resumption of physical classes in educational institutions. Government has also reopened government offices from November 29 given "improving" air quality.
