Digital Desk: Tension erupted in Guwahati’s Panjabari Puranbasti area after pork meat was allegedly found inside a mosque. The outrageous act has created unrest and a row in the locality.
As per CCTV footage, a few unknown people brought pork meat into the mosque premises, along with a handwritten letter that had explosive statements. The letter refers to the name of a woman bearing the name of Plabita and also includes veiled threats that the act was being carried out as a brand of revenge.
The surveillance cameras installed in the mosque showed that there was suspicious activity as a two-wheeler was captured around the area, which has posed more questions to the people involved in relation to their identity and intention.
The deliberate placement of pork meat, considered offensive in Islamic religious practice, has created a highly sensitive situation. Police are now looking into the case, examining the CCTV footage to get leads, a step to identify the culprits behind this provocative act.
