According to him, this resulted in the distribution of more than 50 SAANS devices among the medical colleges in Assam, with more deployments to district hospitals now ongoing.

Digital Desk: As a consequence of the success of a pilot project to reduce neonatal mortality with specialized equipment, or "SAANS," authorities said on Thursday that the Assam government has decided to use the air pressure machine created by a Bangalore-based start-up across its hospitals.

With the portable neonatal Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) device "SAANS," infants can receive essential breathing assistance both in a hospital setting and when travelling.

According to a Senior Representative of the firm InnAccel Technologies, during pilot research on a small sample of babies at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, the gadget produced "great outcomes."

According to him, this resulted in the distribution of more than 50 SAANS devices among the medical colleges in Assam, with more deployments to district hospitals now ongoing.

InnAccel Technologies, which was incubated at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), worked with the SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Finance Facility to develop the device in order to boost respiratory assistance for babies and pediatric populations in Assam.
