Digital Desk: Prag News, one of Northeast India’s leading news networks, has formally appointed Mr. Shoubhik Roy Choudhury as the Digital Head of Operations, effectivefrom 1st April, 2025. Mr. Choudhury brings with him an experience of more than 15 years in the field of digital media and journalism with a background of knowledge in strategic and content management.
Before being appointed, Mr. Choudhury served as the of Manager - Digital Operations at The Assam Tribune where he facilitated vibrant digital transformation of the organization and ensured the optimum delivery of online contentdelivery over a period exceeding four years. In line with that, his professional experience also containskey roles such as Digital Media Manager at EastMojo, Head of Operations at Apne Desh Ko Jano and Digital Head of The Sentinel where he spearheaded many successfuldigital campaigns and operational improvements.
Mr. Choudhury also founded Voice of Greater Assam in 2015, which is a digital media startup that later won immense popularity in the digital media industry, being nominated as the Best Digital Media Startup of the Year (2017) by the All Assam Entrepreneurs Association. The EastMojo also lauded his contribution in the Mizoram elections in 2018 as excellent performance in digital reporting.
Mr. Choudhury holds several prestigious certifications from Google certifications including Advanced Google Analytics, AI-Powered Performance Ads, and Google News Initiative – Indian Languages Programme, which speaks of his competence in areas of both data-driven approach and digital content optimization.
In his new capacity at Prag News, Mr. Choudhurywill be responsible for leading the network’s digital operations, formulating growth strategies, enhancing user engagement, and steering the digital transformation of the organization. His appointment marks a milestone in Prag News on its journey of innovation, audience growth and digital excellence.
