All India Radio will broadcast regional language versions of the departing president's address on its regional networks.


Digital Desk: According to a statement released on Saturday by Rashtrapati Bhavan, outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind will address the country on Sunday. 


The Rashtrapati Bhavan announcement further stated that his talk broadcast would begin at 7 p.m. in Hindi on the entire network of All India Radio and broadcast on all channels of Doordarshan, followed by the English version.


According to the statement, the address will first be broadcasted on Doordarshan in Hindi and English before being broadcast in regional languages on regional stations of Doordarshan.


It should be noted that All India Radio will start airing the regional language versions of the outgoing president's speech on its regional networks at 9.30 p.m., according to the statement.


Notably, Droupadi Murmu was officially appointed as India's next President on Thursday, defeating the joint opposition's presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha.


Meanwhile, the farewell ceremony for outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind began on Saturday at the Parliament.


The outgoing president said at the event, "I took my oath as President of India here in Central Hall five years ago. All members of Parliament hold a special place in my heart."


"Parliament is a temple of democracy," Kovind said. "MPs should always follow Gandhian philosophy while exercising their rights to debate and dissent in Parliament."


He greeted newly elected President Droupadi Murmu, saying, "I congratulate Droupadi Murmu on her election as the next president. Her advice will be beneficial to the country."


Murmu will take his oath of office in the Central Hall of Parliament on Monday.


Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were present at the venue, which Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs co-hosted.
