The family received notification from the Mumbai office of the shipping company regarding their son's disappearance


Digital Desk: A 22-year-old deck cadet from Pune, Pranav Karad, serving aboard a merchant ship, has been reported missing while the vessel sailed from Indonesia to Singapore. Employed at Wilhelmsen Ship Management India Pvt Ltd for six months, Pranav disappeared Friday afternoon, as confirmed by his father, Gopal Karad. 

 

"The ship was travelling from Indonesia to Singapore. On Friday evening, we received a call from the Mumbai office of the shipping firm informing us that our son had gone missing while onboard. We have been told a search operation is underway and efforts are being made to locate him," said Pranav's father, Gopal Karad.

 

The family received notification from the Mumbai office of the shipping company regarding their son's disappearance. Search efforts are underway to locate him. Gopal Karad expressed concerns and informed that they are seeking assistance from the Union government and have approached both Mumbai and Pune police for support. Pranav, a graduate in Marine Engineering, had pursued a three-year course from a local institute. 

 

Despite contacting Pune police, the family was directed to Mumbai police due to the shipping company's office location in Andheri.
