Digital Desk: A man in Punjab was cheated out of Rs. 22.65 lakh by dealers who sold him a black horse that was tinted black.

Black is a rare colour in horses, and black horses command a greater price than other colours.

Ramesh Kumar, of Sunam in the Sangrur district, said a group of horse traffickers deceived him. The media reported that Jatinder Pal Singh Sekhon and Lakhwinder Singh of Sunam city, as well as Lachra Khan alias Goga Khan, were all involved in duping Kumar into believing the sale was for a black horse.

Kumar carried the horse home and bathed it, only to be astounded to see the paint wash away, revealing a crimson coat. The individual stated that he had given the dealers Rs. 7.6 lakh in cash and two checks for the balance, bringing the total to around Rs. 23 lakh.

The three suspects have been charged with fraud by the police.

In another strange instance, a horse was reportedly seen riding a train in Kolkata. Gafoor Ali Mollah, 40, elected to take his horse on a train excursion from Dakshin Durgapur to Netra, a distance of 23 kilometres, rather than trudging back home after a difficult race in which the stallion had competed.

But it did not end well for his owner, as he was arrested by Railway Protection Force (RPF) for offences under the Railway Act.

However, images of the horse standing in between passengers in an EMU local train vendor cabin went viral. Following this, RPF officials tracked down its owner at his Netra house and detained him with the assistance of local police.
