Digital Desk: Among the exuberant festivities at the ongoing Hornbill festival, Shillong's Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa, 19, has emerged victorious, winning the renowned Miss Hornbill International 2023 title.

On Saturday, the Miss Hornbill International pageant's grand finale was held in front of a roaring throng at the Capital Cultural Hall.

Rachel, a BA English student at Synod College in Shillong, charmed the audience with her grace and charm, earning not only the title of Miss Beautiful Smile but also the title of Best Evening Gown.

Rachel's amazing performance throughout the tournament earned her a hefty cash reward of Rs 2 lakhs, as well as Rs 30,000 for her exceptional performance in several subtitles.

Rachel, who is from Mawlai in Shillong, has always been interested in fashion and modelling.

Her path to success began when she was named First Runner-Up in Miss Shillong 2023.

Rachel is now going to sign a prospective one-year contract with Vogue Nagaland as a result of her latest accomplishment.

This year's competition had 14 candidates from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, Mizoram, Nepal, and Meghalaya.

Vogue Entertainment Nagaland manages and produces the pageant, which is supported by Nagaland Tourism, Art and Culture, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, and the Sericulture Department of the Government of Nagaland.
