Raha: The state has been witnessing multiple incidents of ATM robberies lately. The latest incident of ATM robbery has been reported from Nagaon’s Raha where three ATMs belonging to the State bank of India was looted by unidentified persons.

As per preliminary reports, the theft took place in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Speaking on the preliminary reports post finding the ATMs vandalized, Superintendent of Police Anand Mishra said that the robbery took place around 3.30 am on Monday morning.

A police team is investigating the robbery incident and trying to collect CCTV footages for clues on the culprits.

A local has claimed that the thieves had robbed three ATM machines from the corner and was first every such ATM robbery ever to take place in the area.

The ATMs were found vandalized and all cash missing upon the police’s arrival on the spot after receiving a call.

It may be mentioned here that the Raha police station is in closer proximity to the ATM booths.

Last week, a group of unidentified men robbed more than Rs 40 lakh from two State Bank of India ATMs in Bongaigaon Barpara.

Police officials informed that as per information received by them, the theft was executed by five-six men.

The police added that the nearby CCTV cables were disconnected before the crime was committed.
